Abstract

Overwhelmingly, scholars writing on graduate attributes agree that there is a lack of agreement on the definition of Graduating Attributes (Gas). Papers written on the topic invariably begin with an introductory statement in which the authors explain their rationale and use of the term ‘attributes’. Although scholars note this lack of disagreement, there is a suggestion that they have agreed to disagree. However, it appears that the relativenovelty of the broad scale study of GAs (especially in a North American context) can explain the lack of consensus on the ways in which GAs are defined and discussed. Publications on GAs differ in regard to how they define, identify, and distinguish attributes.
