Abstract

In this study, we investigate the potential applications of rank aggregation method in the education system. The rank aggregation technique has recently become a common tool for combining individual rankings into a consensus and for quantifying and improving performance in various applications, such as elections, web page rankings, sports, and multi-criteria decision making. In order to evaluate teachers from the perspective of their students, each student is requested to rank the teachers who taught them. Subsequently, a rank aggregation method is used to transform these massive partial rankings into a single consensus. The empirical results validate the effectiveness and feasibility of this proposal. Our results can be considered as the reference for solutions of other evaluation problems.
