Abstract

Global migration is a fact of 21st century life. People are traversing the globe and finding new locations to live, learn and thrive for a number of reasons, not the least of which is for adventure, global learning, career opportunities, or exposure to a new and exciting way of life. These individuals, who traverse the globe, have unique stories to share about their lives and the lessons they have learned from their experiences. A theme offered throughout this presentation is: what is the learning from global experiences, what these experiences mean to people who go abroad, and how their viewpoints have been shaped by their storied experiences. They offer a unique perspective on the discussion of what it
means to be a global citizen. This presentation provides an overview of the unique narratives of 16 people who have ‘gone global’.
