Abstract

The explorative study has illuminated the importance of ideation with respect to creativity and innovation and how modeling ideation is necessary for learners’ creative and innovative skills development. Study findings indicate that other artist’s work can act as a stimulus and scaffold for learners’ ideation and their original creativity. Nearly all participants combined elements from different Carrington paintings to create their piece. Transformation was also prevalent as participants re-imagined Carrington’s maze, spiral and solar motifs using print and fabric and fiber effects as opposed to paint medium.
