Abstract

Students, in many cases, have not been interacting with their peers, families, and teachers in the same ways as before the pandemic. The need for connection, belonging, and community has never been stronger. This session from the co-author of Hacking School Discipline will focus on setting the stage for creating a collaborative and restorative learning environment. Participants will be given strategies for how to help students learn from and with others in a safe way that builds empathy among students. This will also help educators coach their students with future-ready skills as well work in an environment where students are creating and sustaining community in the classroom.
