Bending Analysis of Porous Functionally Graded Sandwich Plates Via a Four-Variable Shear Deformation Theory
The research work is focused on the analysis of static bending of functionally graded sandwich plates with two cases of even and uneven distribution of porosity across the thickness. The plate comprises a ceramic core and two functionally graded face sheets. The plate is subjected to mechanical loads with sinusoidal distribution. The displacement field is introduced by using a four-variable shear deformation theory. The advantage of this theory is that it has only four unknowns, contrary to other shear deformation theories. The equilibrium equations are deduced using the virtual work concept, and the solution is obtained using Navier’s method.
