Abstract

In 1987, the United States Supreme Court upheld the dismissal of Jacqueline Fowler, who was fired by the Lincoln County board of education for showing the Pink Floyd movie – The Wall [6]. This ruling affirmed that teachers in the United States are expected to at some level to conform to the values of the community in which they teach.
