Abstract

This paper aims to propose a semantic web framework based on ontology in criminal cases by using PATExpert structure, and the structure will be modified to be an ontological method deriving out of knowledge and analysis of legal documents, and the modified structure will be further employed to analyze criminal cases in Taiwan judicial decisions. By comparing the relevant criminal laws with judicial judgments, we can characterize the specific types of criminal cases and models in two different databases, while enhancing the feasible construction of the criminal precedents with the help of semantic network. An emerging research topic centers in law mining that consists of law retrieval, law categorization, and law clustering.
