Abstract

New pyrene-based fluorescence sensors for nitro-containing compounds detection were designed by using cheap and easily accessible reagents. The photophysical properties and the interaction of these sensors with nitro-explosive components were studied both in solution (including aqueous media for watersoluble sensors) and in the solid state by using fluorescence spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography.
