Abstract

Production line data acquisition on existing production lines has limits with used technologies. The data extraction, transformation and loading process is created mainly for monitoring. Data analytics are limited and companies have no
possibility to experience the advantages of Industry 4.0. This article provides a comparison and design for existing production lines, where data is already collected, but data quality or data value is not sufficient. The motivation for this work was the process of preparation of a Digital Twin of a system and Big Data analysis where we recognized that we need better precision and data quality. This article contains the commercial historian, our own C# implementation and flow base technique implemented by node red, and a description of how data is acquired. Each solution has advantages and disadvantages and the solution depends on the expectation of what needs to be achieved. The result is the design of real time data acquisition and data processing from production line. Integration of additional data sources and stream processing has been implemented according to Big Data techniques. The results of acquired data are universal enough that consumers are able to take advantage of data generated by the production line.
