This study has been conducted in order to explore the means the students use for information and data collection required for research papers in two colleges: College of Business Administration and College of Social Sciences at Kuwait University. A Sample of 500 students were surveyed on the uses of search techniques and methods containing the default browser on their smart phone versus the use of the library facilities and database to emphasise proper searching methods, techniques, and choice of sources including domains; in terms of validity, authenticity, and credibility. Students must also be encouraged to visit the library more often for a more accurate, reliable, and wider selection of sources that include proper databases provided by the library and are relevant to their search fields.
