Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the factors that serve as barriers that influence physical sciences teacher’s ability to effectively integrate ICT into their lessons. This study adopted a case study design. The teachers who formed part of this study were interviewed on the factors that served as barriers influencing their ability to effectively integrate ICT into their lessons. In addition, classroom observations were conducted in order to observe how they were able to use ICT in their lessons and also to highlight how they were able to overcome some of the barriers. It was established that three groups of barriers namely individual, institutional and technological barriers hampered their ability to effectively integrate ICT into their lessons.
