Abstract

The hypothesis of treating cancerous tumors using stem cells has developed to become one of the most important models in biomedical research. In the current paper, a mathematical model of stem cells and chemotherapy with diffusion terms is proposed to treat cancer as a system of partial differential equations. The local stability analysis for the model is discussed and the necessary stability conditions are derived. The results show the effects before and after the therapies. Predicting the effects of treatments on the tumor cell decline rate and the effector cell growth rate leads to predict possible treatment strategies.
