Abstract

In this work-in-progress paper, we present a comparative analysis of standards and guidelines that govern the digital forensic landscape. Drawing from a systematic literature review, we identify a set of criteria, which we then organise into a structured catalogue. To demonstrate the applicability of this catalogue, we use it to examine five salient standards and guidelines for digital forensics. Our analysis targets both converging and diverging aspects of these standards and guidelines. By analysing commonalities, discussing differences, and highlighting specifics of the standards and guidelines, we contribute to a refined understanding of the topic.
