Abstract

This paper examines the nature of communication between teachers and principals in technical and vocational schools in the United Arab Emirates, as an indicator of leadership-followership relationship. Drawing on Austin and Searle’s speech act theory, it introduces ‘leadership scenarios’ as a new direction of research methods in the field of educational leadership, management and administration, which is inundated by a preponderance of methods like interviews, case studies and surveys.
