Before starting a course, an instructor puts a lot of effort into administering how the course will be managed. These efforts may include requesting required resources well in advance, preparing handouts, deciding on proper evaluation methods, and etc... Properly planned course elements have positive effect on student learning. The grading methods and distribution plays a significant role in the efforts that students put into each element of the course and their learning progress. Therefore, proper initial planning on the grading scheme and
assessment methods is critical for student’s success and positive learning experience.
