Abstract

There is a significant number of adolescent English Language Learners (ELLs) who are struggling in school. Tutoring Programs are being
implemented to help ELLs. This case study examines a practice tutors used when working with adolescent English Language Learners (ELLs) in one-on-one sessions. The practice used, modeling, proved to effectively support academic progress within the session. The research work contributes significantly to the work of tutors and educators who work with struggling ELLs.
