Abstract

An overwhelming unforeseen workplace events involve miscommunication as a root cause. In organizations and industries with a relatively high degree of risk, and particularly in health-care milieus, effective communication and interpersonal skills have been shown to achieve positive outcomes with fewer errors. Simulation and experiential education approaches, which have been shown to enhance application and transfer of knowledge and skills, have therefore been gaining popularity in higher education settings.
