Abstract

People with autism show differences in social and language development as well as behaviors. However, this does not reflect their developments in logical thinking since there have been people who have shown the capability of logical thinking around the world. This suggests that the educational methods should be focused on logical thinking process prior to social and language developments. The clues for the delayed development were provided by Dr. Grandin, a well-known biologist despite having autism [1]. That is ‘differences in thinking’. The development of teaching methods published in 2022 by Min [2] was based on Dr. Grandin’s story of thinking in pictures [1]. However, the reason that people with autism show delayed language and social development was not clearly understood yet. As Min’s pedagogical methods [2] have been extended to develop social skills, differences in the thinking processes of autistic people have been easier to notice. As a result, the reasons why they seem to be disconnected from the world and why it is difficult to educate them with the current educational strategies have also been illuminated. This presentation will focus on the reason why people with autism are socially disconnected which affects language development in turn and the reason why Min’s pedagogical methods that are bypassing social development [2] have resulted in success by comparing the thinking processes of the people thinking in language.
