Abstract

This study aims to identify the teaching procedures and skills needed for the recitation and intonation course, from a student point of view, in light of the variables gender and student appreciation. The study sample consists of 71 male and female students enrolled on the recitation and intonation course for the spring and fall of the 2019 academic year at the College of Sharia at Qatar University. To achieve the objectives, data are collected using a questionnaire consisting of 60 paragraphs distributed over four areas (objectives, procedures, activities and teaching aids, and evaluation). The statistical analysis reveals that the degree of teacher practice, procedures, and skills are medium and do not rise to a high level from a student point of view. Accordingly, the study makes several relevant recommendations.
