Abstract

The globally disruptive COVID-19 pandemic led to worldwide adoption of emergency remote education practices in many different types of educational institutions. The examination of existing literature revealed an abundance of studies focusing on high school learners, undergraduates and learners undertaking their first adult educational endeavour. This research therefore chose focus to on the experiences of executive MBA students. It is argued that this sample of students has not been examined and that their insights and reflections differ from findings in existing literature. This is caused by their different needs, given their completing this educational endeavour at a later stage in their careers and the higher possibility of their having work and family commitments. Three areas were explored from the perspective of executive MBA students examining: the challenges and beneficial experiences of emergency remote education in addition to calls for retention of practices.
