Abstract

As the conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continues across Sudan, civilian displacement continues to steadily increase. To date, more than 7.2 million people have been displaced inside and outside Sudan. Uganda’s progressive refugee policies have made it easy for many Sudanese refugees to seek support in the country. The linguistic and cultural transition poses unique challenges for these students, shedding light on the complexities associated with refugee education and acculturation. Therefore, this research explores the experiences of Sudanese refugee students as they integrate into the Ugandan curriculum. Understanding their experiences is crucial for designing effective support systems and interventions to facilitate a smoother integration process not only for the Sudanese refugees but also for other refugees.
