In recent years, the development of new technologies and the comprehension of the need for holistic solutions have leveraged the need for transdisciplinary teams in all kinds of research, engineering and business projects. This need simultaneously demands new educational models that integrate the acquisition of specific technical competencies, the capacity to integrate the best of other disciplines for the progress of science and society, and the soft skills required to participate in multicultural and interdisciplinary teamwork.
