Abstract

Violence against women is a widespread social problem to which 10 to 50 % of women worldwide are exposed. According to the Israel Police, there were 188 cases of murder of women from the Israel Police Crime Victims Unit in 2018-2020. In most cases, the cause of the murder was the woman’s intention to separate from her partner, indicating a motive stemming from a sense of possessiveness over what a man believes belongs to him. Moreover, in the latter cases, the murdering men stated that they were experiencing acute insanity and a loss of control at the time of the incident. This paper addresses the need to prevent and deal with the phenomenon of violence and femicide. It also proposes a new method using Machine Learning; Data Mining Techniques topredict female homicides in the future. This is basically an algorithm that, by matching data it receives from existing databases, can drawconclusions about the identity of the murderer and which are the most important characteristics to identify a murderer before they reach their victim.
