Abstract

This paper discusses the benefits of integrating visual language, such as photographs, into Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) programs. It presents a study conducted in an Israeli high school, where students in one class (experimental group) participated in the SEL program with a photography component, while students in another class (control groups) participated in SEL programs without photography. The study aimed to examine the impact of the program on five SEL aspects: Self-Awareness, Social Awareness, Self-Management, Responsible Decision-Making, and Relationship Skills. The findings show an enhancement in all aspects related to SEL for both groups, with the photographyenhanced SEL group showing significant improvement in social awareness and responsible decision-making.
