Abstract

Entrepreneurial education is pivotal in the development of future innovators and agents of change. There has been considerable advancement in honing pedagogical methods to effectively endow learners with essential skills. At the heart of these advancements lie two seminal frameworks: Kearney’s “4 Principles of Entrepreneurial Pedagogy” and Bloom’s “Three Domains of Learning,” which are cornerstones in the realm of entrepreneurial education. Kearney’s principles, focusing on experiential and learner-centred approaches, are fundamental in nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset. These principles enhance the intellectual capacity developed through Bloom’s cognitive domain, as well as the resilience and attitude shaped by the affective domain. The potential synergy between these frameworks offers promising avenues for augmenting entrepreneurial mindset in students. Despite this, the integration of these frameworks is not extensively realised, a gap this study seeks to fill through an exploration of the Business Essentials through Action (BETA) module and its impact on fostering entrepreneurial mindsets. This research anticipates a marked enhancement in entrepreneurial competencies amongst students through the amalgamation of the aforementioned frameworks. The objective is to validate the BETA module’s efficacy in cultivating entrepreneurial skills and to shed light on the wider application of Kearney’s principles and Bloom’s domains. This comprehensive approach is essential not only for developing entrepreneurs but also for guiding innovators and thought leaders.
