Abstract

Identifying the ideal candidates for international educational programs like the Bachelor’s program in Data Analytics at Masaryk University in the Czech Republic presents unique challenges. The Digital Talent Lab is a comprehensive framework designed for enhancing talent acquisition and training for cross-disciplinary educational programs, particularly in the dynamic technology fields requiring a mix of theoretic and practical, hard and soft skills. In such cases, standardized testing may not fully capture a candidate’s true potential, especially their capacity to work effectively within a team, which is absolutely crucial for their future success given the collaborative nature of the area. The proposed acquisition framework is designed as a multi-phase online bootcamp starting from project scoping together with the program’s private sectorpartners, online enrollment of a large cohort of prospective applicants, their skill assessment, individual projects, and all the way to the team projects under joint faculty-private sector partner supervision. This approach benefits all stakeholders: prospective students develop critical competencies and gain exposure to potential employers who can also sponsor their education; the university builds a skilled talent pool; and partner companies connect with pre-evaluated, partly trained candidates, streamlining their recruitment process for junior positions.
